14- Still in Nelson, mutating shades with nature....

While autumn is knocking on our door steps, .....and charming us with the incredible shades, we are packing up to leave town.

Sadness in the air, ... we all are in love with this town.....

Anyway much (and very juicy) happened since my last blog. Besides tons of great hikes in woods filled with scents of wildlife.... big & scary.....

..... what I am sniffing here, that big black freshly made poop,.... it's BEAR, a still very close in the area big black bear!!!!

This is the time when they need to pack lots of calories for the winter hibernation

..... So this streams filled with juicy spawning salmons it's the place....

Can you see how many there are??!! Swimming from far away, UPSTREAM, returning where they were born 3 years prior...

Returning to fertilize their eggs, nest them, protect them while they wither away and die soon after....

...see the eggs?

The park ranger showed as all the life stages of the salmon before it leaves the stream, from egg to fry, then they will start their journey down stream, to open big waters, to be returning in 3 years to mate, birth and die..... and so on....

...it does make me wonder IN WONDER...
