12- Getting freaking colder and colder....

Please do not stare! This is embarrassing enough.....

My buddy Logan and I figured out that my humans seem to have a plan to keep heading more and more North. That has been the pattern so far (Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Montana) and now we overheard them asking questions about Canada. Canada!

Where it's freaking cold!!! I can't take cold, .....do not have it in me!!!

It's time for "The Secret" method, envisioning, envisioning, envisioning.... My beloved Maui, my beloved home, and what the heck, it might help... my housemates the cats....

Maybe I should also try praying, won't hurt right? Please Dog, I need help, I can't be cold....

My prayers got answered... with a pijama! (hence the embarrassing photo)!!! At night got so chilly that I would be shivering,...... okay I acted out the shivering, just an attempt to send them a message. The night after they put a freaking shirt on me!

That's it for the rest of the trip I am choosing to stay in my lousy mood, enough is enough! Even with Nig I keep my distance........

...for a little while anyway....

We do go to other great places in Canada, Kimberly was one, great campground there, right by the National Park, with tons of interesting hikes.

Then we get to Nelson (where we still are and will be here for a good while, as I understand...). Apparently both of my humans have many friends here, many are happy to see them and visa versa. We parked the mobile den by this great house up in the mountain, with incredible trails right next to it, and a great view (see below), great humans inhabits the house.....

......and CowGirl. She is a riot...... talks a lot and is very opinionated.... I will learn cool stuff from her, I know.

All an all I really like Nelson, it does feel like a home away from home. More to follow.....

11- Glacier National Park, oh my!!!!

In awe to the big view as to the small-one....

You know you are in a special place when dogs and humans alike go straight into a no-mind space........

Montana is also home for Logan, Heidi and Chad, cool friends of mine.I am not in the photo, cause I am taking it.... Duh!!!

Close up of my buddy Logan.....He is the one that explained to me that Maui is actually very far from Montana. He is a genius, like an encyclopedia.... knows it all!

How the hell did we get so far lost, I will never get it though! That is a million dollar question that even Logan didn't have an answer for.....

10- Lost like a needle in the hay stack.....

Just when I was getting used to this life style and begin to gave up of my yearning of finding my home. Enjoying just the here and now with no agendas..... The humans get the idea (my assumption, otherwise I can't see any other reason, we were doing so good on firm land....) that home is a long way up a deep fast running river. So, next they rent a raft, take me along, unfortunately, and there we go....

Awesome Nig tries to explain it to me, he understands my hesitation....., which BTW is NOT hesitation, I am simply terrified!!I can't even enjoy the great views....

After hours and hours and hours of paddling.... and rapids of hell, where the humans seemed to have a blast, while I was hanging on for my life!

With few breaks in between for swims (be careful do not look too close, in the following pic. they are naked, and humans naked are UGLY! Hence the small pic.)

And, then more paddling.... for a total of 7 hour!!!! I counted, .....dogs can count...). Insane!!! And we never got to Maui!!! I knew it! ....NOTHING was recognizable to my nose in the whole trip.....

If they would just ask me.....

We, barely, got back to our mobile Den!!! At dusk.... by then I was comatose.

9- Close encounter with my ancestors....

Look at us, you can just see the same fierce-ness..... We are hot!

Madir has been for ever obsessed with wolves. So when she discovered that close by to Coeur d'Alene there was a wolf sanctuary, well Nig and I..... didn't have a say. In no time there we are face to face with my wild ancestors, eyes nailed on me while licking their chops.... "Gigi look wolves! This is the real you, Gigi!" Madir was raving, I see them alright, and I rather keep my distance, with no touch, no sound, no eye contact, ignore them, Cesar Millan's way, works for me.......

I totally felt like the mouse that I nailed by the beach in Maui.... Karma is trying to get me here... I feel it on the back of my neck....

When they broke into an hair raising group howl.... I broke into a "let's just get the hell out of here..."-howl, and Madir ecstatic started crying:"Nig, Nig, can you here Gigi?? She is joining in!! Isn't that cool, our little wolf!!!"

WHATEVER!!!!

8- Things are looking up....

You see, I've always believed in staying positive,..... soon or later things move on and change for the better.....

Lil' Lucio, naturally thrived thanks to Madir's full-on dedication, and the day for him to move on finally arrived! We dropped him off at a bird-refuge in Spokane (WA), where as Madir said it:"The other birds will teach him to be a bird". I was very pleased with it, needless to say..., but Madir was a wreck for few hours, needless to say....

We, also, moved on... Gorgeous lake Coeur D'Alene was waiting for us!!!!!!

More hikes, contemplating time, swims....

Ah, we love the wilderness.....

7- Like a water-lily........

I must say that I am getting quite used to this slow nomad way of life. It's like being a water-Lily, just floating away wherever life takes you.....

Sure I miss my Maui home, the early morning swim, lying on the warm sand soaking in the sunrays afterwards.... and more!

On the other paw, here there are really great hikes! Lots of little critters to chase, big ones to stay away from, millions of new smells, mountains to climb, valleys to take in full speed, cold streams and lakes where to jump in.... And the cozy little den to go back to when I'm exhausted, it's always there for me! As are my sweet humans......

Awesome Nigama never skips my night time fire accompanied by the live performance and that is how I slowly and gently roll into the world of sweet dreams...

6- Now, on top of it all, also a new guest arrives.....

Colorado, Nevada (where we got the mobile-den), and now Oregon. Still searching but, somehow getting used to it and getting cozy in this nomad way of living.... until a new guest showed up!

One of my humans, Madir, can't help herself with rescuing needy-ones.... we were happily hiking when Nigama saw this , pink ugly thingy trying to crawl, by the side of the trail. Sure enough when Madir sees it she went bonkers :' Oh my, poor thingy! We need to find his nest... Oh! Look one of his siblings already died!!! We got to do something fast!" Next to the ugly thingy was another motionless ugly thingy covered with ants.

Couldn't find the nest, the sun is starting to set...sure enough Madir brings the ugly thingy to the den...

For the next week Madir is full on occupied with the ugly thingy. Feeding it every couple of hours, waking up at 4 am to feed him, and heating up hot water bottles to keep him warm, and on and on..... and hikes got cut short 'cause was almost time to feed the thingy....and at times almost forgetting to feed me!

The ugly-thingy started to get noisier and noisier! Louder and louder when hungry.... honestly I could'n't stand him anymore!!!

Before I knew they are trying to introduce the a-bit-less-ugly-now thingy, that by now they adore and named Lil' Lucio, to me, and I to... it. Well, you can get an idea of my feelings about it from the pic. no need to say a word about it.......

5- Still on the road searching, but now with a moving home.....

I guess that my humans finally realized that we are now VERY far from home, so they got us a vehicle that is like a moving home! Great choice, much more comfortable traveling....

....and we can stop at anytime for good naps in a very cozy bed, awesome traveling den....

....always a good fire to keep us warm for the chilling nights, Nigama is my favorite human!!

I must say my humans, somehow, know how to get cozy in every situation.....Yes, we lost our home and land, it looks like we have no idea where we are, and it's very cold here at night, my humans have the worst sense of tracking, but still they are the best !!!

4- Lost in Colorado... not too bad!

Okay I must say: awesome hiking places in Colorado! Loved every minute of it!

There were no crabs but the chipmunks gave me equal thrills....., I must learn to climb trees....

BTW, we are lost and without a home but my humans somehow look always so very happy!

3- Starting the search for our way back home....

Yup... it does look like we lost our home or got lost....

Once out of that huge vehicle, we went for a much needed rest in a foreign & very small house.

I can't complain, the pack is still toghether. We will find the way back home....

P.S. A poodle I ran into at the hike (awesome hike BTW, with a swim in the stream at the end!) told me that the place we are in is called Boulder, CO.

I asked him for the direction to Maui, he had never heard of such a place...

How in the world you never heard of Maui?? The BEST place! Then there is all this believe that Poodles are super smart... I wonder! Never heard of Maui.... throw me a bone here!!!
